Ivan Kurbakov is a writer and film director, graduated from the Moscow Literature Institute and the Moscow School of New Cinema. His diploma film PLEROMA premiered at FIDMarseille in France in 2017. Since then, he has directed several short films, including A PERSON GROWS UP DREAMING, which premiered at GorkyFest in 2021. Ivan has curated a film lab for teenagers and created audiovisual installations such as YONDERS at the Ria Keburia residency in Georgia (2023) and DOOM DOOM DOOM: NOTES FROM A PLANETARY GARDEN at Klangmoorschopfe in Switzerland (2023). Ivan's debut feature film "Youth Myth" premiered in 2025 and won the Best Cinematography Award at the New Movement Young Film Festival.
